Zbigniew Zebro said that in Zamosc the prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case for importing technical grain, which was passed as a different category.
Poland will create a special investigative commission due to fraud in the import of Ukrainian grains, which are sold at low prices. This is what the Prosecutor General of Poland, Zbigniew Zebro, said according to local radio RMF24 on Thursday, April 13.
According to him, fraud on Ukrainian grain is serious. He believes that this “endangers Polish sovereignty and Polish food security.”
Poland’s prosecutor’s office is already conducting investigations, the prosecutor general said.
In February 2023, the district prosecutor’s office in the city of Zamosc opened a criminal case for importing technical grain from Ukraine to Poland, which was falsely presented as grain of a different category and value, Zebro said.
“Such proceedings are already underway, but I have decided that it is necessary to appoint a large investigative team that will cooperate with other services: customs, taxes, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police. Therefore, it will be a large team. We We also want to cooperate within this group with the veterinary and sanitary service,” said the prosecutor general.
As we reported earlier, in Poland, farmers staged protests over the import of grain from Ukraine. They say that Ukrainian products, which should go through Poland, end up in the country and are sold at reduced prices.
In addition, it is reported that Ukraine will suspend grain exports to Poland. In the future, it can only be carried out with the permission of the Polish side, and its procedure will be discussed.
