The cruiser Moskva was destroyed by two missiles launched from the Neptune coastal missile system developed in Ukraine.
A video of the launches of Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles on the cruiser of the Russian aggressors Moscow appeared on the network. The video was published by politician Oleksandr Turchynov on Facebook on Thursday, April 13.
“This is the launch of the very two Neptune cruise missiles that destroyed the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Moscow exactly one year ago. After Moscow went to the bottom, the threat of a Russian landing on the Ukrainian coast of the Black Sea was eliminated once and for all. This is the first, but not the last Moscow, to be destroyed by Ukrainian weapons and the invincible Ukrainian army!” Turchynov wrote.
Recall that on the night of April 13, 2022, the Ukrainian military attacked the cruiser Moskva with Neptune missiles. The Russian side only confirmed the fire with the explosion of ammunition. The Russian Defense Ministry announced the complete evacuation of the crew.
The next day, Russia reported that the fire had been extinguished, but that the flagship had sunk while being towed. Later, the death of only one crew member was officially confirmed, 27 people were declared missing. According to the National Security and Defense Council, only 58 people from the Moscow crew were rescued.
Moscow was destroyed by two missiles launched from the Neptune coastal missile system, developed by the enterprises of the State Corporation Ukroboronprom (Ukraine).
This is the costliest loss of the Russian military in the war against Ukraine, as the remaining value of the cruiser is estimated at $750 million.
Cruiser Moskva was built in 1976 at a shipyard in Nikolaev. This ship, which is over 186 meters long and almost 21 meters wide, has half a thousand crew members.
