Online learning, even if it is of high quality, misses large segments that are important for personality development, emphasizes the Minister of Education and Science.
The Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovoi believes that the main task of the education system should be to create a safe environment for children and teachers to study offline, because online education, even if it has high quality, overlooks large areas that are important for character development. He said this in an interview on the 1 + 1 TV channel.
“In particular, socialization, communication, development of soft skills. Therefore, first of all, we strive to bring the maximum number of children to classroom training, where possible,” said the minister.
After that, according to the minister, high-quality online education should be organized where face-to-face classes are impossible due to risk, as well as abroad.
“According to various sources, from half a million to a million children are abroad. They study in local schools, but at the same time they want to receive Ukrainian certificates and certificates of completed basic education. They study in Ukrainian schools in parallel, overload. huge,” said Lisovoy.
The minister believes that in these conditions children have to make some kind of choice, but the Ukrainian education system has to be made so that children do not do this.
“To make it as easy as possible for them to study there in the schools, leaving our vision. This is to leave unique subjects, given here also the difficulty of synchronizing with our subjects,” he said.
In addition, the minister spoke about the digitalization and optimization of access to education through the creation of individual cabinets.
“This is key, especially in the conditions when we must recover, when we must systematically organize the work with donors. Clearly set tasks for them. We need to completely digitalize education. It is an important moment,” said the minister.
One of the priorities of the Ministry of Education Lisova considers the modernization and transformation of the vocational education system: such educational institutions need to be reformed, they need to invest and unite with powerful professional centers in the region.
