Brigadier General Aleksey Gromov, Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Military Media Center, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
To date, the Bakhmut direction remains the most difficult, where the enemy continues offensive operations in the central part of the city of Bakhmut, as well as in the directions to the settlements of Bogdanovka and Ivanovskoye in order to encircle the city from the north and south, Gromov noted.
In order to strengthen the offensive potential, part of the enemy’s forces and means have been moved to the Bakhmut area, from the Avdeevsky direction, – he added.
Gromov also noted that the population of Russia does not express a desire to conclude contracts with the army. So, in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation, only 134 people were called up for three months, while 7.8 thousand people were planned per year.
