The man was hospitalized, the condition of the man is serious. This is reported by the Polish edition of RMF24.
The incident happened today, April 13, around 7:50.
According to police information, the man was standing in line at the consulate and “at some point he began to behave irrationally.” He began shouting slogans in Ukrainian, calling on the Ukrainian men gathered in front of the consulate to return to their homeland and defend the country from the Russians.
After that, a 63-year-old man doused himself with a flammable substance from a bottle and set himself on fire. The police officers on duty at the consulate and a witness to the incident extinguished the fire and called an ambulance.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
