Macron Tuesday began a two-day state visit to the Netherlands, the first visit by a French president to the country in 23 years, which will focus on European issues.
The French leader, who had just returned from Beijing, and his wife Bridget were greeted with military honors and the performance of national anthems at Royal Palace of Amsterdam in the morning at the king’s William Alexander and his wife Maxima.

After a private reception and dinner on Tuesday, the royal couple will host a gala dinner in her honor.
