This was announced today, April 11, on his pages in his Telegram channel by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko.
The use, sale and transfer of fireworks, salutes and firecrackers is prohibited, Goncharenko noted. – Yes! The ban does not apply to the use of pyrotechnics by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police and emergency services.
In the explanatory note of the bill, its authors cite the following arguments in favor of introducing restrictions:
- now the purchase of pyrotechnics is possible even for juvenile buyers, in particular in the case of its sale via the Internet;
- the sale of pyrotechnics is openly carried out, which can be dangerous if used independently, which often leads to injury, injury or even death of people;
- this issue became especially relevant after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion – the sound and light effects from the use of pyrotechnics are harmful to the psychological health of the population due to their similarity to the sounds of explosions, in particular, given the frequency of air alerts in the country and the likelihood of rocket attacks;
- the use of pyrotechnics harms the health of animals, both domestic and wild, causing them stress and panic attacks. So, during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the number of pets that run and get lost as a result of stress caused by the active use of fireworks increases.
