The Crimean “judge” involved in the prosecution of the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz was sentenced to 12 years in prison. This was announced on April 11 by the prosecutor’s office of Crimea and Sevastopol in Telegram.
“Another Crimean ‘judge’ was sentenced to 12 years in prison in a public allegation by the prosecutor’s office of autonomy. He was found guilty of committing high treason,” the report said.
According to the prosecutor’s office, after the occupation of Crimea by Russian troops, the convict took the position of deputy chairman of the illegally created “Kyiv District Court of Simferopol”.
In addition, he was involved in the illegal criminal prosecution of protesters in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine near the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on February 26, 2014.

Through his actions and decisions, the labor judge contributed to the formation of illegally created judicial bodies and authorities of the Russian Federation in Crimea, and also assisted the representatives of a foreign state in carrying out of explosive activities against Ukraine.
