In Volhynia, UOC-MP activities were banned

The ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was supported by all 54 representatives of the Volyn Regional Council present in the hall.

The Volyn Regional Council unanimously supported the ban on the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the Moscow Patriarchate in the region. Suspіlne reported this on Tuesday, April 11.

It is indicated that the decision was adopted without opposition – 54 deputies voted “for”.

The representatives of the regional council also supported the text of the appeal to the believers of the UOC with a call to cut ties with the Russian Orthodox Church.

According to the chief specialist on the issues of religions and nationalities of the regional military administration, Vasily Gayduk, today 523 religious communities of the UOC-MP are registered in Volyn. As of February 24, 2022, 49 parishes have moved to OCU.

The previous day, the Rivne Regional Council banned the UOC-MP from the region. The ban was supported by all 55 representatives present in the hall.

Earlier, the UOC-MP was banned in the Khmelnitsky region. Local authorities are recommended to conduct an inventory of land plots used by UOC-MP upon subsequent termination of the right to use.
