The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine independently decides on a counteroffensive, and everything will be decided “at the last moment,” said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
The National Security and Defense Council doubts the truth of the information sourced by the CNN channel, which reported on the alleged changes in the military plans of Ukraine after the “leakage of secret documents” in the United States . This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov in an interview with the German channel ARD.
“I don’t know who CNN talked to. In any case, I can say that the number of people who know about our plans in our territory is very limited. And I don’t think that the informant who contacted CNN had such an attitude,” said Danilov.
According to him, Ukraine continues to communicate with its main allies, such as the US, the UK, Germany and Poland.
“The data for carrying out certain operations, the number of units, who is involved and in what direction – this is completely secret information. If someone thinks that he has it, I can only congratulations. But I don’t know where you can get them” added Danilov.
He emphasized that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine independently decides on the counteroffensive, and everything will be decided “at the last moment.”
“If someone thinks that we have only one choice, then it’s not like that. Even three choices are not enough,” Danilov stressed.
Earlier, the American edition of the New York Times reported that allegedly classified documents appeared on social networks with details of the plans of the United States and NATO to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine ahead of the planned counteroffensive. According to the publication, the Pentagon is allegedly investigating who may be behind the “leakage” of the documents. Soon after, the United States announced a new leak of a batch of secret documents describing US national security principles. The documents relate to the war in Ukraine, China and the Middle East.
On the eve of the Pentagon admitted the “leakage of documents.” The White House noted that the authenticity of the documents had been checked, now knowing that some were forged.
