Inflation doubles in March – State Statistics Service
In March, consumer price growth in Ukraine reached 1.5%, up from 0.7% in February and 0.8% in January. This is confirmed by the data of the State Statistics Service. In the consumer market in March, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 2.2%. Vegetables increased the most – by 17.3%. Prices for eggs, soft drinks, meat and meat products, bread, pasta, milk and dairy products, butter, sugar, fruit, fish and fish products increased by 1.8-0.4%. At the same time, prices for rice, grain processing products, sunflower oil, and lard decreased by 2.3-0.2%. However, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicts a 20-40% drop in egg prices after Easter.
