Cyber-specialists of the Security Service, together with law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Poland, neutralized a transnational criminal group of swindlers who invent money from residents of the front-line regions of Ukraine. Basically, it was about people who planned to leave the war zone, including from Bakhmut and Vugledar.

For various amounts, the dealers “guaranteed” the local residents to take them to safer regions of our state. The average cost of such services was UAH 30,000.
Basically, scammers distributed their promises to disabled people and parents of young children.
For this, groups in social networks and popular instant messengers were used.
They took an advance payment of 50% of the declared amount from their customers. The money was received on bank cards issued to nominees.
After receiving the funds, the dealers stopped communicating with the victims and did not get in touch.
Thus, scammers defrauded people of more than 1.5 million UAH.
Another “target audience” of scammers were men of military age. For a “separate fee” the malefactors promised the conscripts to produce fake documents for traveling abroad.
As a result of a special operation in different regions of Ukraine, one of the organizers of the group was detained. It turned out to be a resident of the Zhytomyr region, who was in direct contact with clients and offered them “conditions” for evacuation.
According to the investigation, two more Ukrainian citizens, organizers of a criminal group, are in one of the EU countries.
SBU employees, together with European partners, are carrying out comprehensive measures to detain both malefactors and extradite them to Ukraine.
During searches at the residence addresses of the defendants in several regions of Ukraine, mobile phones with evidence of illegal activity and 10 bank cards were found, on which the attackers received money from the victims.
