The SBU detained a soldier from one of the units who “hunted” for HIMARS and reconnoitered the ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Odessa region. The defendant turned out to be a conscript from one of the brigades of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The traitor was recruited after the start of full-scale aggression and was given the call sign “Crimean”.
The agent was looking for locations for the headquarters, military equipment and warehouses with rocket and artillery weapons. The Russians failed to calculate HIMARS even with the help of an agent.
The SBU officers acted ahead of the curve – they exposed the attacker in a timely manner, documented his criminal actions and detained him while performing an intelligence task.
It was established that in order to disguise criminal acts, the defendant often changed SIM cards on his own mobile phone, which he used to communicate with the aggressor.
