At least five people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting this Monday at a bank in Louisvillein Kentucky, USA, according to police, who also confirmed the death of the alleged assailant.
Policemen Mr. Louisville and the FBI moved to the scene, where authorities initially reported an “active shooter” and urged citizens to avoid the area. Less than an hour later, authorities confirmed that the alleged assailant had been “neutralized”.
Police have confirmed that at least one member of the security forces is among the wounded, according to CNN.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear tweeted about his visit to the scene. “Please pray for all affected families and for the city of Louisville,” he said in his first reaction.
The shooting took place in a building in the city center, which, according to some local media, is the headquarters of the bank. (According to Europapress EFE and AFP)
