At the request of the DBR, the Zavodskoy District Court of the city of Nikolaev chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for an officer who took military surcharges from soldiers. In April, investigators informed the official of the suspicion, as he demanded that subordinate military personnel give him part of the funds from the monthly allowances established for the period of martial law. If the soldiers refused to share the money, the officer threatened not only to create problems during the service, but also frightened them with physical violence.
Law enforcement officers documented more than 30 facts of extortion and receipt of money by an official from subordinates for a total amount of more than 600 thousand UAH. The defendant was informed of suspicion of demanding someone else’s property with the threat of violence, obtaining unlawful benefits, deliberate failure to comply with an order, the use of violence against a subordinate (under part 4 of article 189, part 1, part 3 of article 368, part 2). , part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
