In Russia, there is total Russification of Ukrainian children. Young Ukrainians are set against their parents, convinced that their parents have abandoned them and that they should not return to Ukraine.
Ukrainian children returned from Russia were reportedly beaten and punished for refusing to sing the Russian anthem and mention that they were Ukrainian. This was said by the adviser – the presidential commissioner for children’s rights and children’s rehabilitation Daria Gerasimchuk on the air of the telethon.
“The return of the children does not say anything good about what happened to them there. In general, it depends on their location, because someone is still beaten … because they always remember that they are Ukrainians, because they refuse to sing the Russian anthem ., that they refused to get up during the Russian anthem, that they refused to sing “Go Russia” every morning, etc. They were beaten and punished for this: they were not allowed to go for walks, they were forced to write and copy or Russian texts, etc. .,” said Gerasimchuk.
He emphasized that in Russia there is total Russification of Ukrainian children. Young Ukrainians are set against their parents, convinced that their parents have abandoned them and that they should not return to Ukraine, where supposedly no one is waiting for them.
“And more in this sense – everything that the morbid imagination and fantasy of the Russians allows children to say,” the president’s adviser emphasized.
According to him, the Ukrainian children abducted by the Russians experienced severe psychological trauma, often even physical. He gave an example that a child in Russia was operated on without adequate anesthesia, the child was crying and screaming that he was in great pain, but he was told to endure.
Gerasimchuk said that now there is no single mechanism for returning children; for each deported child or mini-group, a separately developed rescue operation is conducted. At the same time, the Russian authorities were never involved in the return of the children or in the process of negotiations, but on the contrary, they continued to transfer the abducted children, not allowing them to inform their relatives about the themselves, and do not allow representatives of international organizations and third countries to visit them.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers reported that Russia had deported more than 19,000 children from Ukraine. In addition, more than four thousand Ukrainian orphans are in the occupied territories.
As reported, on March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Alekseevna Lvovo-Belova. They are suspected of involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
