President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians and citizens of other countries of the world on Catholic Easter. The head of state published his appeal on Telegram on the morning of Sunday, April 9.
“I congratulate Ukrainians and all Christians who celebrate Easter today. They celebrate it on the front lines and in various cities and villages,” the greeting said.
The President congratulated the Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, allies in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, as well as all those celebrating Easter today in other countries of the world.
“This is a modern world. A world that strives to live freely. A world where the life, respect and equality of every person is valued. Ukraine is guarding this world today. It is fighting for its land and fighting for its values,” Zelensky stressed.
The head of state noted that “two days ago he shared iftar with the Muslims of Ukraine” and that “soon he will congratulate the Jews of Ukraine on the end of Pesach, and in a week – all that celebrating Easter this year on April 16.”
