This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
The incident happened today, April 8th.
At 15.10, the special line “101” received a message from concerned citizens that in the village of Mlynov, Dubno district, on a local beach about 20 meters from the shore in the middle of the Ikva River, there are two girls on a metal pontoon asking for help, the State Emergency Service notes.
Rescuers who arrived on a call with the help of a rescue boat reached the pontoon, removed the children from it and delivered them to the shore.
Fortunately, both rescued children – girls born in 2012 – did not need medical assistance, they were taken home by their parents.
As it turned out, the children were walking on the river bank and decided to take a selfie on the pontoon. At one point, the metal pontoon detached from the shore and floated down the river, the State Emergency Service notes. “Thanks to the vigilance of citizens, it was possible to inform about the Rescue Service in time and promptly save the children.
