The UOC-MP denies the presence of Russian citizenship of Metropolitan Onufry and a number of other high-ranking clergymen, as reported in a recent investigation by Ukrayinska Pravda.

The corresponding statement was published on the website of the UOC-MP.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry has been a citizen of Ukraine since birth and does not own passports of other states, the UOC-MP notes.
In addition, the UOC-MP claims that some of the bishops mentioned in the journalistic investigation “were deprived of citizenship without any justification”,
Therefore, they filed a lawsuit demanding the restoration of their Ukrainian citizenship, since they have no other, the report says.
It is noted that the court has already opened proceedings on their petition.
Since the SBU has repeatedly stated that it checked all the bishops of the UOC for dual citizenship and did not revoke Ukrainian citizenship from other bishops mentioned in the story, the information provided in the video cannot be true. Moreover, the author of the video cited footage with frankly dubious and unconfirmed content as evidence, the UOC-MP adds.
Recall that in the investigation published yesterday, April 7, by the journalists of Ukrainska Pravda, in particular, they referred to the data of the Rospassport system, it was stated that Metropolitan Onuphry and two dozen other priests of the UOC-MP were found to have Russian citizenship.
