The President thanked the United States for the Senate’s approval of the new $ 40 billion support package for Ukraine and democracy in the region.
He also said that Germany had hosted a meeting of finance ministers and heads of G7 central banks, representatives of international donors. Zelensky said that the monthly budget deficit in Ukraine today is $ 5 billion. And to survive the war for freedom, the country needs fast and adequate financial support. And this is a security contribution for partners.
Zelensky also said that he talked to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about economic issues, specifically about the export of Ukrainian agricultural products and the import of fuel, the situation in the battlefield and the evacuation from Azovstal.
“I do everything so that the most influential international forces are aware of and, as far as possible, involved in the rescue of our military,” the head of state said.
He also noted that he has instructed the Minister of Education to prepare changes that will allow applicants from all temporarily occupied territories to enter Ukrainian universities in a simplified manner.
Zelensky said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to advance the liberation of the Kharkiv region. In the Donbas, the occupiers are trying to increase the pressure even more.
