The beginning of the story
At the end of March, on the border of Ingushetia and North Ossetia, unknown people fired at a traffic police post from machine guns of an unknown type. As a result, two police officers were injured and hospitalized.
The incident occurred on March 27 at 23:25 at the intersection of interregional roads. Unknown people fired at the traffic police post of Volga-14, the battle lasted several minutes. At the same time, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was unable to establish the type of gun with which they fired.
The attackers were placed on the wanted list, and investigators opened a criminal case under the article on encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer.
On March 30, Ingushetia police put three alleged participants in the attack on the wanted list: MA Moshkhoev born in 1998, A. Bokov born in 2001 and Kottoev M. born in 1997.
It should be noted that the Russian media gave little coverage of this incident, only official releases from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee were broadcast.

On April 3, already in the north of the Republic of Ingushetia, a new battle took place between unknown people and police officers. Due to the collision, one of the law enforcement officers was injured.
Russian media reported that the fire was opened by the same people who attacked a traffic police post in the republic at the end of March. After this incident, the operational headquarters of Ingushetia introduced the regime of a counter-terrorist operation.
“In order to suppress terrorist activities and crimes of a terrorist, the head of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Ingushetia, Major General DN Kechkin, decided to conduct an anti-terrorist operation in the territory of the Malgobek district of the Republic of Ingushetia from 20:00 on April 3, 2023,” – said in the message.
Also on April 5, it was learned that six people were placed on the wanted list because of the suspicion of having previously attacked the police. The bodies of two of them were allegedly found in late March or early April.
Resisting arrest
Another battle took place the previous day, on April 6, in the district of Malgobek, where a counter-terrorist regime operation was declared earlier. According to RosSMI, three policemen were killed and seven others were injured.
Officially, the press service of the FSB department for Ingushetia said that unknown people barricaded themselves in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt. When they tried to detain them, they fought back and opened fire on the law enforcement officers.
According to unofficial media reports, FSB special forces tried to stop a group involved in shelling a traffic police post on the border of North Ossetia and Ingushetia on March 27, and then police officers outside Malgobek on April 3.
