Exercise Locked Shields 2023 has been in preparation for seven months. More than 5500 virtual systems have been created for the participants.
The NATO Cyber Security Cooperation Center will host the Locked Shields 2023 cyber defense exercise in the Estonian capital Tallinn from April 18 to 21. About 3,000 people will participate in the world’s largest cyber exercise, the Estonian broadcaster reports ERR on Friday, April 7.
It is indicated that real tasks in the field of cybersecurity will be solved during the exercises:
-
resisting attacks on power grids;
-
improving the ability of networks to protect;
-
making tactical and strategic decisions in a critical situation.
“No other cyber defense training can offer such a specific and detailed experience as Locked Shields. 24 teams from around the world have to keep critical infrastructure and IT systems alive,” said Mart Noorma, director of the NATO CyberSecurity Cooperation Center ..
According to him, 500 organizers prepared and completed trainings in seven months and created more than 5,500 corresponding virtual systems.
This year, teams from 38 countries will take part in the exercise, which has been held since 2010.
The NATO Cyber Security Cooperation Center is a branch of the Alliance headquartered in Tallinn. He discusses cybersecurity issues of member countries.
Remember that Ukrainians will work at the heart of NATO cyber defense. They will be able to participate in joint cyber exercises and conduct research with partners in the field of protecting critical infrastructure.
Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development announced that the world’s first cyber war is now underway. At the same time, Ukraine managed to establish a certain system of protection against Russia, and now the advantage is on our side.
