On Friday, April 7, Ukrainian soldiers shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft. The enemy “Rook” was landed in the area of Maryinka, Donetsk region. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Good news. In the area of Marinka, Donetsk region, an enemy Su-25 was destroyed. Let’s stand and win! – said the department on Facebook.
The command of the Air Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that one of their units distinguished itself.
As you know, the Su-25 is a Soviet-made armored subsonic attack aircraft. The aircraft is designed for direct support of infantry over the battlefield day and night with visual visibility of the target, as well as the destruction of objects with given coordinates around the clock in any weather conditions.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Ukrainian military has already destroyed 306 Russian combat aircraft of various types. Also during the war, 292 helicopters were shot down.
Recall that in March, servicemen of the 10th Edelweiss Mountain Assault Brigade shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft near Berestov in the Bakhmut direction. The fighters got into the “Rook” from the Polish MANPADS Piorun (“Perun”).
