Belarus changed its mind about deploying nuclear weapons near the Polish border

Alexander Volfovich claims that there are allegedly many places on the territory of Belarus for the deployment of nuclear weapons.

Belarus changed its mind about the deployment of nuclear weapons on the Polish border, citing the fact that more than 40 points for nuclear weapons have been preserved on its territory since the time of the USSR. This was stated by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich, according to the Belarusian propaganda publication Belta on Thursday, April 6.

“Belarus is all located near the western borders. It is the western outpost of the Union State. It is not necessary to place them near the borders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. You can place them anywhere. The distance and length of Belarus is 600 km. This allows you to put them anywhere, “said the official.

According to him, there are many places in Belarus to deploy nuclear weapons.

“On the territory of Belarus, when there was a military district of Belarus (in the days of the USSR, – ed.), there were more than 43 points for the deployment of nuclear weapons. They all survived – the president said, ” added Volfovich.

As you know, on March 25, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, said that Moscow agreed with Minsk on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

In his turn, the head of the ruling regime of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that as threats to the country grew, strategic nuclear weapons could be introduced and that the infrastructure for this was ready.
