The intensity of shelling by Russian invaders increased by 11% compared to the previous month. This was announced on Wednesday, April 5, by the spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko, writes Ukrinform.
He pointed out that as of March 2023, border guards have withstood more than 1,800 enemy attacks.
“Together with other units, the border guards participated in more than 900 battles with the aggressor in March. Also, a large amount of enemy manpower and enemy equipment was destroyed during the joint operation, ” said Demchenko.
He noted that Ukrainian soldiers continue to repel enemy attacks in the direction of Avdiivka, Liman and Bakhmut.
“In the Bakhmut area, the Russians continued to focus on the largest offensive resource, despite heavy losses,” he said.
According to Demchenko, the Russian invaders are trying to use the tactics of attrition and total destruction.
Recall that Reznikov said earlier that the Ukrainian military is preparing a counteroffensive, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will choose the right time for it.
The head of the Ministry of Defense also noted that Ukraine is forming a counterattack corps. They can impose several counterattacks on the Russian aggressors at once.
