The deliberate separation of children from their parents and the direct abduction of children from orphanages have been recorded.
UN representatives of nearly fifty countries signed a joint statement on the illegal forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, April 5, by the representative of Ukraine at the UN Serhiy Kislyts in Twitter.
The statement was signed by Andorra, Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Kingdom of the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, UK and USA.
“We condemn the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, including in particular the forced deportation of Ukrainian children, as well as other serious violations against children committed by Russian forces in Ukraine. There is no amount of disinformation that The Russian Federation has deployed to either deny the truth of this issue or protect people from the children of responsibility for these crimes,” the statement said.
The representatives of the signatory countries noted that the facts of the deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation are obvious.
Therefore, experts found that Russian authorities detained and forcibly removed more than 19,500 Ukrainian children from their homes. The deliberate separation of children from their parents and the direct abduction of children from orphanages have also been recorded. All of them were subsequently delivered to Russia.
It will be remembered that on March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued international warrants for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova. They are suspected of illegally deporting Ukrainian children.
