In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on Tuesday evening, April 4, all evacuation measures have been completed, the water level has dropped, hromadske reports.
The mayor of Kramatorsk, Alexander Goncharenko, said that seven people had agreed to evacuate from the flood zone to the Point of Indestructibility. All others will live with relatives.
It is noted that local residents are complaining about flooding of houses above waist level and damage to properties.
The dam structure is reinforced with sandbags. It was decided not to block the canal, the water level had gone down.
The State Emergency Service reported that at 22:00, rescuers, together with the police, saved three people, another 14 people were evacuated, including two children. In a certain place for the temporary accommodation of the victims, the psychologist of the State Emergency Service continues to provide psychological assistance.
Currently, rescuers are carrying out emergency work to reduce the capacity of the spillway lock.
Recall that part of the dam broke in Kramatorsk, water began to flood residential buildings. Local authorities said the reason was the snowfall in March. So, in the village of Kramatorsk territorial settlement, an uncontrolled discharge of water occurred. As a result, 260 houses in Kramatosk were flooded. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service and public utilities are working at the scene.
