Advocates say Evan is doing well and is grateful for the support from around the world.
The lawyers of the American journalist of The Wall Street Journal, Evan Gershkovich who is imprisoned in Russia “for espionage” have gained access to him. On Tuesday, April 4, the WSJ reported.
It will be noted that the lawyers met with the inmate in jail.
“They say Evan is doing well and is grateful for the support from around the world. We support Evan and continue to call for his immediate release,” according to the WSJ.
At the same time, the publication emphasizes that Gershkovich did what journalists do. He asked questions and gave eyewitness accounts of events in the region.
“His imprisonment is completely unjustified and an attack on the free press. We are doing everything we can to get Evan home safe and sound,” the WSJ said.
The journalist’s colleagues also emphasized that they will not rest until he is reunited with his family.
Remember, on March 30, in Russia, security forces detained a US citizen, a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, Evan Gershkovich. The FSB accused him of “spying on a Russian military-industrial complex enterprise.” The court remanded the journalist in custody until May 29.
