Some bus drivers in protest against the murder of a colleague in the city of La Matanza, province Buenos AiresArgentina, cornered and pelted with stones and other objects the minister of security of the province, Sergio Berniwho managed to escape from the place guarded by the police.
Drivers’ anger was aroused that a Line 620 driver was killed early Monday morning when thieves got into a car to rob and collided with a police officer who was riding in a unit while driving through La Matanza.
Bernie went to the roadblocks that drivers protesters on General Paz Avenue (which separates the Argentine capital from the province of Buenos Aires) and on Route 3, who joined the decision to strike across the entire western zone of Greater Buenos Aires, the Automotive Tramway sector trade union said. Union (UTA).
The security minister, who was accompanied by transport minister Jorge D’Onofrio, was greeted with shouts by drivers who beat him, threw stones and sticks at him and pushed him against a wall, where he fell and then stood up.
Berniewith the right side of the nose covered in blood, was trapped between the wall, and the police and journalists became a human shield in front of angry drivers.

Protesters yelled at him “liar” and “son of a bitch” and reminded him of broken promises years ago after another driver was killed on the same line in 2018.
The minister, dressed in a black jacket from the Ministry of Security, said: “Guys, I’m here”; “If I’m here, it’s because I’m interested,” but the drivers continued to yell at him.
“Let’s talk,” Bernie repeated. “You want to fix everything in the office and lie to us. Speak in front of the cameras,” they replied.
For more than half an hour, Axel Kichillof, the minister of security of the provincial Peronist government, was at the wall, where they also threw plastic bottles and pieces of tomatoes and splashes of earth.

Although Bernie insisted on talking to the demonstrators, Buenos Aires City Police officers with shields and sticks clear a path to remove him; and the presence of the police got the protesters out of control, who threw glass, bottles, stones.
The police shield dragged the minister in a bicycle helmet to the car in which he fled the scene.
Drivers remained in the area who said they were “feared” when they entered the neighborhoods: “They kill us like rats,” he said, insulting not only the minister, but also the mayor of La Matanza, Fernando Espinosa.
