The geography of Sergei Lavrov’s foreign trips currently reflects “Russia’s priorities in the international arena.”
The European Union allegedly “lost” Russia through its own fault, and now Moscow considers it an “unfriendly association”. This position was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview published on the website of the Russian diplomatic department on Tuesday, April 4.
“The European Union” has lost “Russia. But he himself is to blame. After all, it is the member states of the EU and the leaders of the union themselves who have openly expressed the need to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, as they say,” Lavrov said.
The Russian minister complained that the Europeans were “puffing the criminal Kiev regime with weapons and ammunition” and allegedly sending “instructors and mercenaries” to Ukraine.
“For these reasons, we consider the EU as an unfriendly association,” he said and made sure that Russia drew the necessary conclusions from this situation.
The minister says that in response to “hostile measures” Moscow will act “strictly if necessary, guided by Russia’s national interests and the principle of reciprocity generally accepted in diplomatic practice.”
“If the Europeans at some point abandon their anti-Russian course and opt for a mutually respectful dialogue with Russia, we will consider their proposals and make decisions based on our national interests, because they were approved by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the new concept of Russian foreign policy” said Lavrov.
He also admitted that the geography of his trips abroad has changed, and now it reflects “Russia’s priorities in the international arena”, embodied in the new concept of foreign policy.
Recall that in March, Sergei Lavrov was ridiculed in India. Then, to laughter in the hall, he said that the war was allegedly launched against Russia using the Ukrainian people.
