Michael Cohen suspects his former boss Donald Trump is “petrified” ahead of his New York trial over his role in the 2016 cash payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
“Stick Donald is going to stuff that diaper, because it’s not something Donald is capable of understanding or fighting,” Cohen, who has worked closely with Trump as his personal attorney for more than a decade, told Ari Melber on Monday . MSNBC’s “The Beat.”
“He thinks he can control any situation. This is not a situation he can control and it makes him sick to his stomach,” he added. “I think he’s more than stoned now.”
Cohen served a prison sentence for campaign finance violations for facilitating $130,000 in payments to Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair with Trump in 2006. Since then, Cohen has acted as a key witness for the finance prosecution the campaign.
Trump arrived in New York from Florida on his private jet on Monday. Trump’s team has indicated that he will turn himself in to the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Tuesday. He will likely be fingerprinted before entering a courtroom to plead, where he is expected to plead not guilty.
