The Security Service has collected an evidence base on pro-Kremlin millionaire blogger Yuriy Podoliaka, who publicly justifies Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.
The press service of the department on April 3 said that the blogger, while in Russia, is actively involved in the information and psychological operations of the Russian special services.
The attacker regularly appears on propaganda TV channels, including Vladimir Solovyov’s talk show.
During the broadcasts, Podolyaka calls for the capture of Ukraine and support for the Russian occupation groups in the destruction of the civilian infrastructure of our state. The propagandist also massively distributes fakes about events at the front through his own website and YouTube, Rutube and Telegram channels, which have several million subscribers, the SBU said.
The expert studies initiated by the SBU confirmed that there are facts of his subversive activities against Ukraine in his interviews and speeches.
Investigators of the Security Service informed him of suspicion under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 Art. 109 (actions aimed at forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or at seizing state power);
- Part 1 Art. 110 (dissemination of materials calling for changing the boundaries of the territory in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine);
-
Part 2 Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
-
Art. 436 (war propaganda);
-
Part 2 Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Since January 15, 2023, Podoliaka has been under the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine due to anti-Ukrainian activities.
He was born on February 21, 1975 in the city of Sumy.
In 2004, he participated in the Orange Revolution, but already in 2013 he began to voice other narratives in his blog and articles.
The owner of the private enterprise “METASISTEMY SERVICE” with the main activity “repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment for industrial use”.
