The turnout in the parliamentary elections was 71.9%, which is 0.2 pp lower than the previous ones (72.1%), which took place in 2019. The highest voter turnout was recorded in Helsinki (77.5), the lowest – in the Åland Islands (59.7 ).
The final election results will be known on April 5.
If the result doesn’t change much, none of the parties will be able to form its own government and will have to find coalition partners. The winning party will be the first to try to put together such a coalition.
Finland’s center-left Social Democratic Party representative Sanna Marin led the country’s government in 2019, becoming the world’s youngest prime minister. At the time of office, he was 34 years old. Opinion polls in Finland call Marin the most popular prime minister this century.
