Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, had a telephone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron on April 1.
The heads of the two states substantively and effectively discussed the defense cooperation between Ukraine and France, Zelensky informed his colleague about the situation at the front. The telephone conversation lasted an hour. The President announced this on Twitter.
The parties also stopped at further steps to implement the “peace formula”. In addition, Zelensky and Macron coordinated actions in the context of upcoming international events.
Earlier it became known that in early April, French President Emmanuel Macron and the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will travel to China to negotiate Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Recall, on February 23, the UN General Assembly, with the votes of 141 countries, supported the resolution on the Ukrainian formula for peace, containing the requirement for Russia to “immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.”
The resolution also calls for the proper treatment of prisoners of war, full respect for international humanitarian law, and an immediate halt to attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
