Putin approved a new concept of Russian foreign policy, aimed at creating a potential anti-Western coalition.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a new concept of Russian foreign policy aimed at promoting the Kremlin’s anti-Western coalition. About this on Friday, March 31, the Institute for the Study of War ISW wrote.
The new concept of foreign policy portrays the West as an anti-Russian and international destabilizing force. And the US and its “satellites” have been accused of hybrid war, allegedly aimed at weakening Russia.
The report states that Putin tried to use the meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping on March 20-22 to strengthen efforts to rally the rest of the world against the West.
“The dictator’s proposal to form an anti-Western bloc during Xi’s visit to Moscow was not well received, as he refused to join China in the geopolitical conflict that Putin envisioned with the West,” ISW said.
Analysts emphasized that the weak economic situation in Russia and its losses on the front provide little incentive for other states to show serious interest in the proposal.
Analysts believe that the Kremlin decided to release a new concept of foreign policy on the eve of the leadership of the UN Security Council to create informational conditions for future efforts in the Organization aimed at building an anti-Western coalition .
Recall that Putin signed a decree approving the updated concept of the main directions of Russia’s foreign policy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine opposes the leadership of the aggressor country Russia in the UN Security Council from April 1.
