The Rosomak armored personnel carrier is equipped with a 30mm Bushmaster II cannon, machine gun or anti-tank missiles.
Poland will provide 100 Rosomak (Wolverine) armored personnel carriers for the needs of the Ukrainian army. Funds for the purchase of equipment will be provided by EU countries and the United States, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Twitter on Saturday, April 1st.
“The Ukrainian army will buy 100 Rosomaks from us, manufactured in Siemianowice-Shlensky. Rosomaks are top-class armored personnel carriers. The purchase will be paid for by EU and US funds,” Morawiecki wrote.
It is known that Rosomak is a licensed copy of the Finnish Patria armored personnel carrier, built in 2001. Its weight is 22 tons, four axles, speed up to 100 km/h on land and 10 km/h on water. Equipped with 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon, machine guns or anti-tank missiles, crew of three. Used in the war in Afghanistan. A total of 670 such armored personnel carriers have been produced to date.
It will be remembered that on March 16, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw will transfer the first four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. He did not specify how many fighters Poland would provide for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It was also reported that Poland will buy 800,000 rounds of ammunition for $2.8 billion.
