In northern Norway, several avalanches have occurred, causing the death of four people, including tourists. The Air Force announced this the other day.

So, on the island of Reinoia, an avalanche swept a house and a barn into the sea. According to the authorities, the deaths of two people and 140 goats, which were then in the barn, were confirmed.

Two hikers died in two other avalanches. Both are believed to be foreigners, although their nationalities are not yet known.

In the first avalanche, in Lingen, one person died and two others were injured.

“There were five people who came from abroad walking in the area. We can confirm that one person died,” said police spokesman Morten Pettersen.

Two others were injured, one in serious condition and the other with “moderate injuries,” the police spokesman added.

Police said last night that a fourth person had died in another avalanche in Storslet.

“This person was part of a large foreign tourist group. Another member of the group who was at the scene found this person and reported it to the rescue services,” police said in a statement.
