Today, March 31, with the assistance of the Howard Buffett charitable foundation, 11 service dogs were handed over to the police of the Kiev region, which passed the selection and initial training course at the Police Dogs Center in the Netherlands in the direction of searching for explosives and weapons.
Among the animals donated are nine Belgians and two German Shepherds. This was reported by the press service of the police in the Kyiv region.
Since last year, we have been working closely with the leading dog training centers in Europe, thanks to the Howard Buffett Foundation. Today we received an additional 11 new dogs, – said the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region Andriy Nebitov, – They will serve in the Kiev region, help people and ensure order.
It is noted that after training, the dogs will be handed over to special police units of the Kiev region in order to involve them in special operations, as well as in front-line territories for demining, detecting illegal movement and storage of explosives, weapons and ammunition.
Also, the Howard Buffett Foundation recently donated four specialized vehicles to dog handlers in the Kyiv region for the comfortable transportation of service dogs.
They are already actively used in everyday service, combating crime and ensuring public security and order in the territory of the Kiev region, the police say.
