Alexander Lukashenko offered to stop the conflict in Ukraine “on both sides” without the right to transfer military equipment.
A possible counter-offensive by the Ukrainian army would lead “to an irreversible escalation of the conflict” in Ukraine. This is what the formal leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said in his speech with a message to the people and parliament of Belarus on Friday, March 31.
“Today there is a lot of talk about the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In my opinion, it is very dangerous. It is the worst thing possible in the current conditions. Because it can cross out all hopes for in the negotiation process and lead to an irreversible escalation of the conflict,” he said.
Lukashenka also suggested stopping the conflict in Ukraine “on both sides.”
“I will try to risk proposing a cessation of hostilities. Many today, especially in Russia, may say that we have already stopped in Donbass, then the situation was different. But given these conditions, cease hostilities, declare a truce without the right to move, redeploy troops on both sides without the right to turn over weapons, manpower and equipment. Everything is frozen,” suggested the leader of Belarus.
In his opinion, then negotiations should begin, but if allegedly “the West is again trying to use the cessation of hostilities,” Russia allegedly has the right to use all kinds of weapons.
“Then, Russia is obliged to include all the powers of the military-industrial complex and the army to prevent the escalation of the conflict. And phosphorus bullets, and combined uranium, and enriched uranium, everything should be involved. If again there is a deception and even the slightest movement on the border is noticed, Ukraine or from the other side movement of Russian troops and preparations for attack. The military will understand me,” said Lukashenka.
In his opinion, all “territorial, restoration” and other issues should and allegedly “be resolved at the negotiating table without preconditions.”
Earlier, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine may launch several counterattacks against Russian aggressors. For this, the counterattack corps was formed.
