The United States will continue to train Ukraine’s military and work closely with allies and partners to ensure Ukrainians repel Russian aggression.
Currently, more than 11,000 Ukrainian military personnel are being trained abroad. 26 countries joined the “training coalition” of defenders of Ukraine. This was announced on Thursday, March 30, by Pentagon Speaker General Patrick Ryder, writes CNN.
He said that since April last year, defenders of Ukraine have attended more than 40 different training programs in more than 20 combat systems.
At the same time, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, specialists from the United States have trained more than seven thousand Ukrainian servicemen.
“This week, 65 Ukrainians who trained on the Patriot air defense system at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, returned to Europe after completing their training,” Ryder said.
He also mentioned that by the end of this month, more than four thousand Ukrainian military personnel will undergo joint weapons training with Germany, who will master the Bradley and Stryker combat vehicles.
“The United States will continue these exercises and work closely with allies and partners to ensure that the Ukrainian people receive the necessary defense assistance they need to defend the country and repel Russian aggression. We are determined to support the Ukraine as long as necessary ,” said the general.
Recall that Ukrainian personnel returned home after training in Britain on Challenger 2 tanks, which are predicted to be used in a counteroffensive against the Russian army.
