The Economic Court of Kyiv refused to secure the claim of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate against the national reserve Kiev-Pechersk Lavra regarding the invalidity of the unilateral termination of the lease agreement. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko on Telegram, announcing the court’s decision.
“The court refused to secure the claim in the case of UOC-MP against the National Reserve Kiev-Pechersk Lavra on the annulment of the transaction on the unilateral rejection of the contract, the application of the consequences of the invalidity of the termination of the contract on July 19, 2013 to religious buildings and other state-owned property,” wrote he.
If the court approves the application, the expulsion from the Lavra will be suspended until a decision is made on the church’s lawsuit against the reserve.
