Law enforcement officers conducted an anti-terrorist operation last night in Brussels and Antwerp.
Eight people have been arrested in Belgium on charges of planning a terrorist attack. It was announced on March 28 by the RTBF TV channel.
It was noted that last night the police carried out an anti-terrorist operation: three people were detained in Brussels, five more in Antwerp. Some of them are followers of Islamic extremism.
The identity of the alleged assailants and their motive have not yet been revealed.
It can be recalled that in September last year, four suspects were detained in the Netherlands in preparation for the kidnapping of Belgian Justice Minister Vincent Van Kvikenborn.
