Court in Cyprus convicts Ukrainian woman accused of attacking Russians

A 55-year-old woman received six months in prison for an incident that occurred in August 2022.

The district court of the Cypriot city of Larnaca sentenced a Ukrainian woman to six months in prison, accused of attacking Russians with a knife while celebrating the Russian flag day. This was reported by The Cyprus Times on March 28.

It is known that the incident involving a 55-year-old woman happened in August 2022.

Videos circulating on social media show a knife-wielding woman approaching a small group of people waving Russian flags.

Due to the incident, no one was injured.

Initially, the suspect was charged with carrying bladed weapons, hooliganism, disturbing the peace and carrying a weapon to threaten. In September last year, he was released on bail of 2,000 euros.

Earlier it was reported that two Ukrainian women were detained in Bulgaria, who illegally brought 12 kg of gold from Turkey to Ukraine.
