Russia’s war in Ukraine has underscored the importance of following a rules-based order, the State Department said.
Ending the war in Ukraine and restoring world order is one of the main topics Summit for Democracy, which will be held this week by the US administration. This was announced on Monday, March 27, by the Deputy Speaker of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, reports Ukrinform.
“Of course, the Russian Federation’s brutal attack on Ukraine, without any doubt, will be a topic for discussion. I’m sure,” said Patel.
He noted that Russia’s war in Ukraine underscores the importance of respecting the rules-based order, as well as the UN Charter and directly to the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In addition, according to him, the summit participants will discuss other topics related to the future of democracy both in the US and in the global context.
Earlier, the US State Department said that Russia should not get a chance to relax on the front. Due to the slightest “rest”, he will regroup his forces and attack Ukraine again.
The State Department also pledged that the United States would continue to provide support to Ukraine in the security, economic, energy, and humanitarian spheres.
