A participant in an anti-government rally was accused of denying, questioning and approving genocide.

Prague’s first district court will consider the case of a rally participant whose clothes were embroidered with the emblem of the Russian private military company Wagner and the Latin letter Z, symbolizing support for Russia’s war in Ukraine. It was reported on March 27 by irozhlas.cz.

The man is suspected of committing a criminal offense of denying, questioning and approving genocide.

Judging by the photos from the demonstration, the young man had a backpack on his back with a Z-shaped patch, which became a symbol of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On the sleeve of his jacket, he has a patch with the logo of PMC Wagner, who was involved in the battles in Ukraine.

After an anti-government rally in Prague on March 11, he was detained by the police. The prosecutor took his case to court.

During the rally, several hundred participants tried to enter the National Museum building and tear down the Ukrainian flag. The police detained 20 people.

As you know, the letter Z was used by Russian troops as an identification mark on their vehicles during the invasion of Ukraine.

In March last year, EU countries banned the display of the Z. Wearing or displaying the Z symbol indicates support for Russia’s war of aggression and thus means approval of criminal activity.
