The President Meets with Orlando Bloom to Talk About Helping Children

About 1.5 million Ukrainian children are at risk of developing depression, anxiety and other psychological problems.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the British actor, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom and discussed with him help for Ukrainian children suffering from the war. This was reported on Sunday, March 26, on the President’s Telegram channel.

It was noted that as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom will support projects to provide humanitarian aid and restore infrastructure, focused on ensuring the interests of Ukrainian children. Among the priorities are the development of a family care system for children deprived of parental care, the development of infrastructure for early childhood development, as well as the creation of youth projects and starts -up.

The President thanked Orlando Bloom for his visit to Ukraine and his work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

“Thank you for your visit, which is an important message. It is important for us that the world knows what is happening in Ukraine during the war. Of course, thank you for the help you give directly to the children,” the Head of State said .

The President noted the importance of creating a safe environment for Ukrainian children – both for those in Ukraine and for those forced to leave our country because of the war.

He said that during the widespread war in Ukraine, thousands of schools were damaged or completely destroyed, and nearly 2.7 million Ukrainian schoolchildren were forced to study online or in mixed formats, the report said.

The President also noted that approximately 1.5 million Ukrainian children are at risk of developing depression, anxiety and other psychological problems.

“During the meeting, we discussed humanitarian aid projects, recovery issues specifically focused on the interests of children. UNICEF and our teams will work in several areas, bringing success closer and will return a happy childhood to Ukrainian children,” informed Zelensky.

Orlando Bloom said he visited one of the schools in Irpin, which was equipped with a bomb shelter. According to him, such projects are important for UNICEF.

The meeting participants also discussed the return of Ukrainian children, who were exiled to Russia by the invaders. The head of state called on UNICEF to help Ukraine solve this issue.

It was previously reported that the world famous actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom arrived in Ukraine.

Recall that in 2016, Bloom came to Donbass, where he visited several local schools and kindergartens.
