Ukrainian soldiers are trained abroad before being sent to the front.
Many fighters master modern Western weaponry. In particular, in the UK, a group of Ukrainian artillerymen is completing their training, mastering self-propelled artillery mounts of 155 mm AS90 caliber. Training takes place in a specialized institution under the supervision of the Royal School of Artillery and is conducted by officers and soldiers of the Royal Regiment of Artillery. This was reported on March 26 at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The ministry noted that the UK was the first country to announce the transfer to Ukraine of a squadron of Challenger 2 main battle tanks with armored evacuation and repair vehicles, as well as a battery of eight AS90 guns in “high readiness” and two more batteries in “various degrees of readiness” .
As you know, AS90 is a flexible, high-precision modern artillery system. This self-propelled gun is famous not only for good armor, but at the same time allows it to hit targets at a great distance.
Recall that Princess of Wales Kate Middleton visited the Salisbury military training ground in the UK, where mine clearance training is held for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the exercises, the princess personally “provided medical assistance to the military.”
