CMU plans to continue “mass privatization”

The Cabinet of Ministers in 2023 plans to transfer the majority of state-owned enterprises to the management of the State Property Fund.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that most state-owned enterprises in 2023 will be transferred to the State Property Fund, after which they can be privatized.

It is reported that the Cabinet in 2023 has already planned:

transfer the majority of state-owned enterprises to the management of the State Property Fund;

after reviewing their activities, privatize or give them a new level of management according to OECD standards;

continue “mass privatization” to stimulate investment and accelerate the liquidation of insolvent enterprises, in particular, update the list of strategic enterprises not subject to privatization;

develop a strategy for managing businesses confiscated from sanctioned entities;

optimize the structure of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

“Our strategy is to reduce the share of the state in the economy while maintaining state control over sectors that are strategic and important for the security of Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
