France bans civil servants from using TikTok and Netflix

The reason for the ban is that these applications pose risks in terms of cyber security.

The French government on Friday, March 24, banned government employees from using TikTok and Netflix. This was reported by the Italian news agency ANSA.

Civil servants in France are now banned from installing and using China’s TikTok and America’s Netflix platform. Specifically, this ban is being enforced on the work phones of approximately 2.5 million employees.

These applications pose risks in terms of cybersecurity and data protection of civil servants and administrations, the media note.

Remember, on March 17, it was reported that UK authorities had officially banned officials from using TikTok on work phones. The ban will affect ministers and civil servants.

Even earlier, the US House of Representatives banned the use of TikTok.
