“The air strikes were carried out in response to today’s attack, as well as a series of recent attacks on coalition forces in Syria by groups linked to the IRGC. No group will strike our troops when impunity,” Austin said in a statement.
The Americans conducted a “raid” on pro-Iranian militants with the help of combat aircraft, AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and artillery.
Drones also reportedly hit a US base in Syria in January. Four drones were destroyed before they reached the base area, and the fifth made a strike on the base area.
